Our Story
Projonmo is a space for a shift in the perspective paradigm in regards to children and adults
with special needs. Projonmo works with parents, specialised trainers and teachers along with
children and adults to bring about notable development and awareness. This awareness
encompasses intersectional understanding of special needs and impairments wherein we create
an ecosystem of intellectual and emotional learning.
Founded in 2013, Projonmo has continued to strive to identify minor and major demarcators in
the assessment of CWSN and AWSN. Registered under Society Registration Act of 1860 and with
two centres, in Guwahati and in Tamulpur, BTAD area Projonmo aims to create an interactive
urban and rural community, by training social workers, teachers, daycare helpers, facilitating
engagement with medical, welfare and human rights organisations, and most importantly
building a trust worthy network of parents, who along with us can bring immense change in the
lives of individuals with special need and the approach to children and adults with special
needs.
At Projonmo, we cater to the discourse, the disabilities and the development. The narrative
around special needs is a dynamic one that requires ardent research and training procedures,
emotional coherence and openness to any and every individual who falls under the spectrum.
Projonmo chooses to walk by individuals with special needs in mundane activities, create
possibilities from distant hopes and generate access across people of the state of Assam and
beyond. Projonmo is putting out efforts to create livelihood options for mothers of children with
special needs in rural and urban areas to make them capable of taking financial decisions
regarding their child’s condition.
All of what Projonmo is and can be, stays with the community that stands by us and is made of
each one of you. We are open to admissions, counselling, queries, and suggestions.
Together lets make a world where every ability is important and the discourse of disability is
approached with increased empathy and care.
Our Mission
To empower children and adults with special needs through evidence-based therapy, inclusive education, and family-centered care. We aim to strengthen communities by building capacity, supporting caregivers, and enabling sustainable livelihoods—ensuring every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity, inclusion, and hope.
Our Vision
A society where every person with special needs is valued, supported, and included—regardless of ability. We envision accessible services, informed communities, and empowered families leading the way in disability inclusion, early intervention, and lifelong development rooted in compassion, equity, and innovation.
Our Goal
Guwahati
Ankur Path
A Nurturing Space of Hope and Healing
– Nestled in Guwahati, Ankur Path is a nurturing space where children with special needs are
supported through specialized therapy, inclusive education, and compassionate care, all
under one roof. We offer evidence-based occupational, speech, and behavioral therapies,
guided by individual goals and a deeply family-inclusive approach.
Parents are supported through counselling, home visits, and skill-building, empowering them
to become active partners in their child’s development. Our center also fosters early
identification by training teachers, ASHA workers, and community leaders, ensuring timely
referrals and inclusive awareness at the grassroots.
Ankur Path is also a space of economic empowerment, providing skill development,
mentorship, and access to market linkages so families can build sustainable livelihoods. We
help families access Disability ID cards and social welfare benefits, advocating for their rights
and inclusion.
More than a center, Ankur Path is a second home—where children are seen, families are
supported, and futures are rebuilt with care, dignity, and belonging.

Tamulpur
Community Development Centre, Tamulpur
Reaching the Unreached
Projonmo’s Community Development Centre provides essential services to children with special
needs and their families. Supported by Azim Premji Philanthropy, the center offers occupational
therapy, speech therapy, and special education tailored to each child’s needs.
Recognizing the challenges many families face in traveling, our team also delivers home-based
therapy for children who cannot visit the center due to physical, financial, or logistical barriers.
Beyond therapy, we focus on creating livelihood opportunities for mothers and caregivers
through skill development, training, and access to local markets. This support helps families
gain financial stability while continuing to care for their children.
We also work to improve access to basic health services and raise awareness within the
village, helping people understand and accept children with disabilities and special needs
beyond their impairments. Our goal is to ensure that children are seen and supported as part of
the community, not set apart by their challenges.
At Tamulpur, Projonmo is committed to providing practical, ongoing support, because real
change comes from addressing the full needs of families in their own environment
